Privacy Policy

This website is operated by Associazione artistica PETRUSKA, based at Via Bertaro Lambertenghi 9, 6900 Lugano, Switzerland (CHE-338.403.477). The association operates under the artistic brand name Markus Zohner Arts Company.

This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. It has been drafted in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We collect only the data strictly necessary to provide our services.

Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. Subscription is via double opt-in: you receive a confirmation email and your subscription becomes active only after you click. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.

Workshop booking
If you book a workshop or retreat, we collect your name, email address and payment details. Payments are processed by Mollie B.V. (Amsterdam, Netherlands), a payment processor based in the European Union. Credit card data is processed directly by Mollie: we only receive confirmation of payment.

Direct contact
If you write to us by email, we store your name, email address and the content of the message for the duration needed to handle your enquiry.

We use Matomo, an open-source web analytics platform, hosted on our own servers (matomo.zohner.com). Matomo is configured with privacy in mind:

• IP addresses are anonymised (the last two bytes are masked)
• Tracking is cookieless
• We respect the Do Not Track setting in your browser
• Data stays on our European servers and is not shared with third parties

With this configuration, Matomo collects only aggregate statistics (pages visited, session duration, approximate geographic origin) without identifying you personally.

This website uses only essential technical cookies (session management, language preference). These cookies are necessary for the website to function and are deleted when you close your browser or after a short time.

We do not use profiling cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookies. For this reason, no cookie consent banner is required.

• No tracking pixels (Facebook, Google, TikTok or others)
• No Google Analytics
• No data sent to servers in the United States
• No profiling or automated decision-making
• No sale or sharing of your data with third parties outside the EU/Switzerland
• No social media logins or widgets that transmit data to external platforms

All data is stored on European servers:

• Website and newsletter: Hetzner Online GmbH, Nuremberg data centre, Germany
• Images and media: Hetzner Object Storage, nbg1 region, Germany
• Payments: Mollie B.V., Amsterdam, Netherlands

No personal data leaves European territory.

Newsletters are sent via Ghost, an open-source platform hosted on our Hetzner servers. We operate three editions:

• backstage.zohner.com (Italian)
• markus.zohner.com (German)
• notes.zohner.com (English)

Subscription is via double opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email. After unsubscribing, your address is removed from the mailing list.

You have the right to:

• Access: know what data we hold about you
• Rectification: correct inaccurate data
• Erasure: request the deletion of your data
• Portability: receive your data in a structured format
• Objection: object to the processing of your data
